Job Description

We are partnering with a valued client in St. Petersburg to identify a Staff Accountant for a direct hire opportunity. This role offers the chance to join a collaborative team environment with strong growth potential.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee general accounting functions and financial processes for multiple client entities
  • Manage daily and monthly accounting activities, including maintaining expense records and preparing tax-related documentation
  • Accurately post transactions to the general ledger
  • Perform bank, debt, and balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Handle invoicing, respond to client emails, and complete administrative accounting tasks
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding sensitive financial and accounting matters
  • Assist with preparation of individual and business tax returns during peak tax season
  • Prepare and issue annual Forms 1099 for assigned clients
  • Partner with managers and firm leadership to enhance accounting and tax workflows
  • Contribute to long-term growth into a client advisory role

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Min. of 2 years xperience in a Staff Accountant or related accounting/finance position
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, including advanced spreadsheet usage
  • Familiarity with accounting systems such as QuickBooks or similar platforms
  • Solid analytical and mathematical abilities
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional integrity
  • Actively pursuing CPA certification or already licensed
